How it works

Four steps. Fully reversible.

No deleting unless you want to. UAD Plugin Mate moves the plugins you don't own to your Desktop, and you decide what happens next.

Export your profile

In the UAD Control Panel, open the menu → System Info → "Save Detailed System Profile" and save it to your Desktop.

Open the app

UAD Plugin Mate prompts to load your profile automatically — or click "Load SystemProfile.txt" to pick it manually.

Clean up Plug-ins

One click moves all Demo / unlicensed plugins into a "UAD Removed Plugins" folder on your Desktop.

Restore or delete

Keep the folder to restore later, or delete it. Re-run after each UAD install or license change.

Features

Built for a clean session

Stop scrolling past hundreds of demo plugins. Keep only the gear you actually own — across every format and DAW.

Removes Demo plugins

Detects unlicensed UAD plugins and moves them to a "UAD Removed Plugins" folder on your Desktop — nothing is deleted unless you choose to.

All formats & LUNA

Cleans up VST3, VST, AAX and AU automatically, plus a dedicated path for LUNA (Console) plugins on macOS.

Works in every DAW

Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Ableton, Studio One and more — it works at the plugin-folder level, so it's DAW-independent.

Filter & fine-tune

Use the Filter view and per-plugin checkboxes to keep a demo or remove a licensed plugin. Toggle Mono and disable all Legacy plugins in one click.

💾

Save & reload config

Save your chosen plugin selection to a config file and reload it later. Enable or disable each plugin type to be processed.

Completely free

Free for Mac and Windows. No analytics, no tracking. Donations are welcome but never required.

Questions & Answers

Good to know

Does this delete my plugins?
No. Demo / unlicensed plugins are moved into a "UAD Removed Plugins" folder on your Desktop. You can keep that folder to restore them later, or delete it yourself — it's entirely your choice.
Which plugin formats does it handle?
VST3, VST, AAX and AU automatically, plus a dedicated path for LUNA (Console) plugins on macOS.
How does it know which plugins I own?
It reads your UAD System Profile. Export it from the UAD Control Panel (menu → System Info → "Save Detailed System Profile") and save it to your Desktop; the app loads it and matches it against everything installed.
What do I do after buying a new plugin or changing licenses?
Save a fresh System Profile and run UAD Plugin Mate again. You should also re-run it every time you install a UAD plugin update.
Can I keep a demo, or remove a licensed plugin?
Yes. Use the Filter view and the checkbox on each entry to override the default — keep a Demo plugin, or exclude a licensed one from being kept.
Why does the Windows version ask for Admin rights?
Moving plugins in protected system folders requires elevated permissions, so on Windows the app prompts for Admin mode if it isn't already running with it.
Is it really free?
Yes, it's completely free for Mac and Windows, with no analytics or tracking. If it saves you time, a small PayPal donation is appreciated but optional.
